Times are changing for B&B Livestock-
We have sold our fullblood registered Salers program to Camas Prairie Salers in Reubens, Idaho. Nearly 30 years of hard work and planning have gone into that program and it feels really strange not to have the Salers cattle here anymore. They were the love on my life for sure. The bull shown above is a great example of our dedication. Salers cattle are still tops in every way in our book.
About the Angus program--Having two breeds to plan for has always made life tougher. We are finally to the stage where we want to be with our Angus cattle. They are growthy quick maturing cattle that have become a pleasure to work with. With all the developments in the cattle industry, the Angus breed has benefited greatly. The breed is working to dissolve disposition issues and for us that has always been a focus. It doesn't matter how good that cow is if you can't handle her safely and she makes you made with every move she makes. The other thing that has become important with Angus cattle is the testing for genetic problems and the policy that the association has made. It's good to know we can offer our customers cattle that we know are problem free as much as any bovine can be.
A good example of the kind of bulls we raise both Angus and Salers. Come by and look at our 2015 offering.

About Our Program--We have been in the registered business for 45 years first with Polled Herefords, then with Salers and now with both Salers and Black Angus. We have been artificially inseminating for the best genetics in both the Salers and Angus programs for the past 25 years. We have worked hard to build a herd of females in both breeds. We are using a son of Thunder out of a Marathon dam on our Angus cows. As a whole they are a really nice set of calves. We've been especially pleased with his calves. Our Salers herd was one of the rare fullblood herds in the U.S. We worked especially hard to build the Salers. It is great to know that Luke Lowe of Camas Prairie Salers will be continuing our hard work.
